Panel: Is Cloud Storage Ready for the Enterprise?
Speaker
Arun Taneja, Founder and Consulting Analyst, Taneja Group
Description
Cloud computing is being touted as the next big thing. As with most over-hyped technologies the impression is that cloud storage will solve all ills, including curing cancer. We will explore what the readiness of this technology is for the enterprise (not the consumer). Can enterprise IT safely move data to the public cloud? Is seciurity adequate? Is reliability adequate? Is perfomance adequate? If so for what applications? How should enterpise IT go about making a decision about which data is suitable for the cloud, if any? A panel of four CTOs from representative companies will debate the issues. We will focus on the public cloud for this session.
